Foggy Marshland: “Foggy Marshland” gives viewers a glimpse inside the rolling clouds of vapor that often cover the marshland of the lowcountry. In this painting, I seek to depict the beige, tan and brown colors of the earth that make up the foundation of the marshland. Solid tan sand and soil nourish the roots for the brown cattails jutting up from their roots. The water matches the milky color of the surrounding fog while reflecting the tall, strong sticks of marshland vegetation. This painting exudes and earthy feel while leaving viewers with the impression that they could easily feel sand and rocks amongst their toes, the cool fog wrapping their skin, and the rough cattails against their legs.
