Peaceful Summer: A clear sky, warm wind swirling slightly, and nothing but nature before me made for the perfect summer day to create a landscape painting. The still water reflects the blades of marsh grass with precision, serving as a mirror for the neighboring grass and the sky above. The position of the sun at this particular hour of day in the painting causes the shade of grass to lighten from dark green to a more golden-green hue as the marsh extends further away from my paint site. Although nearly at eye-level with the marsh, the curves of the inlets among the marsh are still detectable as the water flows through the marsh. Undisturbed by anything of human origin, the nature and time of day embody the perfect, peaceful summer retreat.
