Sunset Inland: One evening at the coast, I painted the lush greenery of the wetlands. My angle helped me catch the setting sun as it dipped beyond the trees. The setting sun allowed me to distinguish between the layers of cattails and the trees using light and shadow. The lasting light illuminated the various shades of green between the cattails, brush and trees nearby, and forest out in the distance. Similarly, colorful red-orange and yellow light emanated from the sun, softly fading darker with distance. The calm pool of water is a reminder of what nurtures the growth of the surrounding vegetation. The painting portrays the patterns of light and color that are found universally in nature.
